It doesn't "damage" your car. But it will deteriorate the engine oil and several engine parts quicker.

I drive a 2003 Honda civic so i idle my car in the morning because it cold,oil is thick ect.i idle for atleast a minute to allow the rev to drop from 1300 to atleast 1000 an I drove off slowly,once it at normal operation it at 800 then I can drive fast.i see people with modern cars start up an go even on ice cold mornings

cars wil make carbon at idle and clog and foul plugs especially if you own a diesel don’t idle it

With my 2018 Rubicon, I would remote start in the morning and let it sit and idle for about 10 to 15 minutes every day for the last seven years. Never had any issues.
