this just sounds like he was mentally unsound and his wealth enabled him to completely allow his obsession to destroy his life

Honestly a movie where a horror film maker has constant nightmares trying to bring them to life on screen only to find they are very much real too late sounds pretty cool.

This is more respectable than most millionaires. At least he was creative and had passion for something other than accruing more wealth.

I saw it in the cinema introduced by the producer. It's a great, if strange and problematic, film.

Another good reason why he ran out of money is because, since it was his first time making a movie, he kept making poor financial decisions. A good example is that most film productions rent out thier equipment for each film, he bought the equipment outright.

Am I the only one NOT shocked and coming from this with zero interest in seeing how a ⚪️billionaire decided to crash out with money that could have saved insane numbers of lives?

It has some incredibly beautiful and eerie sequences, it is also primarily a total mess. And their narrative is loosely based on his tortured kidnapped family member. It’s one of the most unique horror movies I’ve ever seen.
