My favourite trope to implement is gods are dead and their subordinates are desperately keeping up a facade of divine rule for fear their worshippers will abandone them, loosing what little divine power they still maintain

For magic, I treat it like muscles. I don’t have a great explanation yet but in the inner machinations of my fantasy world magic is a particle suspended in air and gained through breathing. Then you’ve got to learn how to keep magic inside instead of breathing it out. This causes tiny channels in your muscles to slowly form and allow you to contain magic. Then physical exercise is required to keep muscles in healthy shape to be able to better circulate and expel magic.

I love making the gods enemies, but not fight to death enemies, more like silly highschool friends playing pranks on each other energy, they're both still very serious about their duty, but when they interact with each other they become more human and playful with each other and often get carried away with their "pranks" and oh look a continent just became the ocean floor

the gods in my world are the same person split in two. Mother created the world and had her children play in it, but she called them back and absorbed them into herself. All but one. he stayed back and the split to create to keep from being alone. then each one created there own "children" to control the now decaying world from mothers absence.

So we have one giant magic ball in the sky that grant’s magical properties to all light that exists then there’s another in the centre of the Earth which is hollow btw that gives magical properties to all darkness that exists these are the lights sun and the dark sun. Light and darkness exist independent of these objects that showed up millennia ago but they are essentially alien beings that to bring destruction to the worlds they inhabit. these twin suns do not create light or dark darkness they simply give these things magical properties and produce spirits and actively seek out sources of light and a darkness. The light and dark spirits, both also hate each other and attempt to kill each other whenever they can. there is also a grand spirit of light and a grand spirit of darkness, only one of each can exist that are given time and should one die They would lose their memories and be born in their respective sun all light spirits/dark spirits would lose their memories alongside their respective great spirit simutaniously. Neither light nor Dark are good nor evil and they just hate each other and spread destruction by their inherent nature of constantly hunting each other down.

I’ve got the concept for a primordial God/time/force/place named the ‘Kindred’ which was a crucible carrying all existence, concepts etc. under mysterious circumstances it shattered releasing all the ideas outside, main things being Time, life, death and existence. But after the shattering of the Kindred, the planets and laws of the cosmos were released where upon earth ‘longing lands’ strived all ancient animals which eventually evolved into modern life forms. Amongst those animals existed the two main, most intelligent and powerful species known as Titans, being humanoid and closer to their Primordial roots collecting magical and arcane power from the Kindred by praying to it, the second species is the ‘Drakkons’ which vastly vary but are all defined by possessing scales and elemental powers. But unlike Titans, Drakkons acted mostly on a primordial instinct known as ‘Öz’ (which also means the power of nature). Due to both of these species being the dominant on the Longing lands, they constantly fought and with each death (no matter whose), the Kindred was capable of using that soul to slowly rebuild itself and refill what was lost. Eventually, The titans built a colossal wall on the very edge of the world where no modern humans have yet reached the other side of. After time, the species stopped the battle mostly due to the Titans discovering the ‘Yawing Tree’ which grew directly from the fallen fragment of the Kindred. The sap of this tree granted Immense knowledge of the distant past and the unique gift of Immortality. Due to titans no longer being susceptible to death and possessing vast knowledge they no longer had need to praise the kindred. This lead to the kindred, which still required souls to rebuild itself, to unleash itself in a Draconic form. A being resembling the Drakkons but it was colossal, exceeding any being of all history. This being, it used its vast primordial magica and powers to extinguish all life including the Immortal titans. The Yawing Tree was almost destroyed but some titans hastily saved a fruit from annihilation. Both the Titans and The Drakkons, despite being enemies and on different planes of understanding - combined forces-

The very basics of magic are intuitive, but anything more requires rigorous study. I read a post comparing it to math—walking requires calculus, but to understand it on a comprehensive level and to apply it to other things requires lots of studying
