Holding the flame too long. I know the manly thing to do is burn it to a crisp but you should only scorch the leaves. Burnt off will grow back, scorched will damage cell structure and starve the roots. Fine line, too little doesn't kill and too much doesn't kill. A bit of an art to get it just right.

There’s 5 foot of that flame that’s invisible that you cannot see. Make sure you stay away from the house at least 7 feet so it doesn’t Back draft under that wonderful siding you have

Always have water and hose close by. It’s no joke how fast things will burn in the summertime heat.

That torch is not safe at all. You gotta remember. There is gas lines around the house. You gotta know where is your gas lines are before you apply it.

We did this exact same thing last summer—and five hours later, our basement bathroom was on fire. We have a gravel patio and thought it would be safe and easy, but a single ember got under the siding and smoldered for hours. I even stood next to my husband with a hose, thinking we were being so careful.
When we went inside, there was no smoke, no visible fire—nothing. The firefighter told us the ember didn’t ignite until hours later. He said these kinds of fires happen more often than people realize.
By the grace of God, all four of our children, my husband, our dog, and I made it out safely. We’ve only just moved back into our home after spending 9.5 months in a rental while it was being rebuilt. Our lives were turned upside down.
Please don’t promote this. Please stop using it. We truly thought we were being careful. I believe God led me to your video so I could share our story and ask—sincerely and prayerfully—that you take it down, so no other family has to go through what we did.
My daughter was afraid to go to sleep on Father’s Day, terrified that our house would catch fire again. That day last summer was supposed to be a gift—a new tool for my husband to enjoy.
I’m not trying to be negative or unkind. I’m just a fellow woman of God, pleading with you from experience: please take this down.
