Absolutely loved Chuck when I watched Gossip Girl as a young teen - rewatched it as an adult a few years ago and now am a certified Chuck Bass hater, cannot believe how popular that man is even with adult watchers

Reminds me of Amy Pond from Doctor Who... She's a fan favourite character but one of the very first things she does in the series is try to force herself onto the Doctor despite the fact he shows visible discomfort at her advances & repeatedly tells her 'No' -_- I honestly think she's an unlikeable, badly written, obnoxious character to begin with but even if she had been the most charming & nuanced person in the franchise, as some people seem to think she is, I still wouldn't enjoy watching her because that one scene casts such a long shadow & she's never even confronted about it or faces any consequences for her actions. It's endlessly frustrating to me how happy people are to gloss over that plot point 😒

even the notebook, i can’t bring myself to watch it, because that movie is a top rom com, but he got the girl by threatening his own life?? then he had a character arc and it’s so romantic blah blah, im so grateful that my first knowings of the movie was a teacher explaining dv in relationships, and she used the clip as an example, never could watch it after

I watched the pilot for gossip girl with a friend who had watched it, after she told me they try to redeem him and he has a bunch of fans i lost all interest in the show💀

this kinda happened in Desperate Housewives. Gaby had a relationship with a minor and they even acknowledged that it was a crime. she still ended up being so many peoples' favourite characters despite never being held accountable @😭😭 unfortunately I still love Gaby

I'm proud that I realised that it was Chuck before you mentioned him. As a teen I loved Blair + Chuck (GG), Aria + Ezra (pll) and Elena + Damon (tvd). As an adult, I have def changed my mind.

It’s because Chuck from s 1 isn’t the same caracter as Chuck in the rest of the series. In the books Chuck has a pretty minor role and if I’m not miss remembering (15 years or something since I read the books) he’s not really there after book one. So basically from season two and forward he’s an original caracter
