You’re looking at it from the perspective of your left hand, everyone else is looking at it from the perspective of the right hand needle

I wouldn't think clockwise/counterclockwise was the best terminology for it

Cara :
clockwise and counterclockwise work best when the “clock” is actually facing you haha. I would just say front to back or back to front

Lou :
I would never think to describe something that you’re looking at from the side as counterclockwise or clockwise. because neither make sense to me here lol. I would say front-to-back and back-to-front

Seems backwards to me. I wonder if different terminology would be more helpful

sapheara :
I see it backwards from you 😆 if the yarn is going left to up to right to down, that’s clockwise to me and that’s how I see it from the perspective of your left hand lol

I’m confused on how people see this as backwards because that makes perfect sense to me🤷🏻♀️- to be fair, I’m neurodivergent soooooo🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

Kendra :
Yeah no that’s backwards. Clockwise is the same direction a clock goes- counter clockwise is opposite

I don’t know where the starting perspective is from. I think it only works if you are switching your perspective to the hand the needle is pointing at. If that’s the case clockwise is actually counter clockwise and counter clockwise is counter clockwise.

The needle being like the center of the clock does make it look the other way sorry😭

Dr. Chyenne Gunn :
It’s based on your finger movement not the yarn movement. That’s where the confusion is! ♥️

That is because no one knows how to read an actual clock anymore!

Yea no clockwise is the other way, counter (against) clockwise is up on the right side, clockwise is up on the left side. The same direction that the clock hands move, is clockwise. ❤️

I think of it the way the hands turn and you’re doing it backwards unless my brain is??

The needle point is 12:00- clockwise would be bringing the yarn to the right, counterclockwise would be bringing the yarn to the left I hope that makes sense 😂
