i’m about to have to leave. i’m so in love with him and really truly thought this was my husband, that i’d live the rest of my life with him but i can’t take this dynamic anymore. i don’t know how i’m going to make it through but i can’t feel like this every day anymore. i’ve worked on my communication, my tone, picking very few battles, my approach, feeling secure in myself. none of it matters, i always feel guilty for gently asking for connection. i need to go.

pro tip: you feel shame because some part of you agrees you could or should be better than you are. instead of running away from the shame, improve yourself so that that topic no longer brings you shame.

We tried therapy years ago, but he sabotaged it, and we never went back. It’s been 11 years, and I have left for good. He is an avoidant narcissist. Breadcrumbing and gaslighting no more.
