My clean, indoor, fully vaccinated, healthy cat bit me while I was trying to get her foot unstuck from the guinea pig cage (she likes to sleep with them, but she was hanging upside down by her foot) and within 45 minutes my finger was so swollen that I couldn't bend it. People don't get how bad cat related injuries are until it happens to them.

Try a towel over the top of the trap. Then set it. Cats like to hide. I’ve caught over 20 cats in a house doing that.
