@builtwithtools: You can use a screw to hold the last piece of vinyl siding in. The screw pushes it tight to the face, and the head of the screw hooks on the J-channel holding it in place. You can also use a snap lock punch. But you'll have to add a strip behind the siding at the very top to push it tight to the J-channel. My dad had a type crimpers that would make a high spot that was big enough to hold that top piece in. I don’t know how he thought of it. It worked good.
