05 armada starter. under the intake in the valley but when I changed it it was the original one. 15 years old. it was a pain but good idea for longevity

I will never understand as vehicle engineers, why they don’t keep the good designs and at least move them forward into other vehicles. Instead it’s around for a few yrs on a model or two and then gone

have you tried Snapon’s magnetic brake shoe hold down spring retainer installer tool? I’ve got one for my company box that i’ve used a couple times. It’s petty cool but I unfortunately don’t do drum brakes often enough to use it more.

It don’t work so good in the rust belt. The pin pulls through the backing plate. The quick fix is to install a the cap on the back of the plate. I still approve that design. 😁
