I remember going shopping in the fall for school and getting a few things for summer. When we were teenagers and had part time jobs we would take the bus to the mall and buy our own clothes.

I’m older than you but we got clothes in the fall for school. Maybe some shorts because we outgrew the old ones. We were poor. I was #3 girl so I got hand me downs. Poor but the house and us kids were spotless. My mother was immaculate.

Same! 😂 Worse here, I wore uniforms til 8th grade and then dress code for high school. 🙄 We were broke but had everything we needed. My dad got paid every other week, kinda like most people. The “off” weeks were what my mom called “poor weeks.” It meant don’t ask her for any money those weeks because dad didn’t get paid. 😂

We would get school clothes, jeans, Levi corduroys whatever and we would get Christmas gifts. But then our summer wardrobe was we would cut the jeans and Levi corduroys into shorts.🤷🏻♀️

We were poor but we had everything we needed. You could raise a family with one income then and mom was always able to stay home with her 5 children of which I'm the youngest. I too remember shopping for clothes at back to school time mostly.😁

Honestly, our parents sent us to Catholic school but we had one summer outfit. This is why I learned to sew when I started high school.
