Our team of lawyers has responded by protecting people, like Javier, from unlawful detention and deportation. Yesterday on Juneteenth, 20+-year California resident, Javier, was arrested while minding his own business on a street corner in Pasadena without warning and without a judicial warrant. So how did Javier, a man with no reason for the arrest, who is in the middle of chemotherapy treatment, find himself laying on the floor of a federal building with 70+ people in a small holding cell? Trump's unlawful mass deportation tactics. Javier's story is just of hundreds. Luckily Managing Attorney Kristen Hunsberger was on the ground advocating for his release alongside his family. Today they were able to walk him out of detention and get him on the road for his chemotherapy appointment. Thank to Kristen's steadfast advocacy, Javier can sleep in his own bed tonight.
