Wow where do I begin? I didn’t give up on Riley when that would have been the easiest way out, but trust me part of me wanted to. So many people give up when their foster dogs are challenging but I knew she deserved better. She deserved a chance to prove everyone wrong. It feels like another lifetime rewatching this footage. Riley has made a complete 180 and I am so utterly proud 🥲🥹. I’m grateful that we’ve gotten here (not without blood, sweat & lots of tears). I truly understood what community meant by the way people have shown up for Riley and I. You guys came through in advocating for us, donating money for training, sending wish list items, words of encouragement. Being single and having 2 personal dogs that I had to keep separate for months was so stressful. So many of you showed up and came over to help me walk Riley with the boys to try and build a bond. When that got too much @curbedbehaviors behaviors stepped in and worked their magic 🫶🏼 She came home from her board & train with a better understanding that she could feel safe around other dogs and how to work on her impulse control. We have worked daily/weekly since day 1 to try and help set her up for success. I’ve learned SO much about training and dog behavior over our 7 months together. She teaches me every day. Every time I see her meeting a new dog and doing great I’m just so thankful that we were able to get to that place, because I know so many other dogs/guardians are never able to. Riley was not socialized with dogs or environments/sounds/people before I got her and watching her grow has been one of the greatest honors of my life. She’s gonna be tough to let go of for sure. Riley is still available for adoption across the US.
