Most homeless people have mental and substance abuse problems. And you can cry accountability all you want but they need help that we just refuse to provide as a society. So I’m gonna give them 5 bucks if I have it. I don’t care what they do with it.

In Miami we saw a guy with a sign saying “I’m hungry please help”. We went home and made him some sandwiches. We brought them back with some snacks and drinks and he threw them at us and cussed us out for not giving him money. Never did that again.

A friend of my dads owns an electrical company and tried to offer a “homeless” man a job that the cops were forcing to leave from in front of a McD, the man looked at him & laughed told him he only wanted money he didn’t wanna work!! 🙄

there was a study done a few decades ago suggesting $20+ an hour was supposedly super common for panhandlers and some people aren't even actually homeless they juat do it for easy money ... this was before the "homeless crisis" became so bad

there's cities around us that have made it illegal to panhandle and illegal for people to hand hand beggars money or food. you hand it to him. you can be cited. and we have no homeless in our city

My grandpa gave the same offer in downtown ATL in the 90's. $10hr to sweep the jobsite. Refused. So glad I learned this as a kid.

When i was 16/17 i worked for a guy and we would see a homeless man everyday on the way to the job site and one day my boss offered him a job making 15$/hr and work 8 hours a day and the guy refused saying “ i make more than that standing right here 2-4 hours a day”
