in her defense.... she does have a point. at $150 per paycheck shes never going to be able to buy a car. my daughter is 17. shes swimming, going to the beach, hanging with her friends and driving my car. Our kids have the rest of their lives to have to work. Let them enjoy one last summer!!🏝🏖🌞

Reality hits hard when they start working and having to earn their own money. It’s good that you walked her through the logistics of life and how it works. It’s a shock to the system. I’m 63 and still shocked. 🤣

I offered my son my Jeep Cherokee and he said no ill just get a job and buy my own then when he saw how much he would make and what a car would cost he changed his mind rapidly 😂

We bought our teen a car and cover every cost, because she deserves to enjoy being a kid not feel owned by a paycheck. Some parents forget that.

Show her 25 different job salaries, at varying amounts of education. She should understand why college matters, why choice of major matters. But be clear - no debt for undergrad - so if you want lots of college choices- do well in school!
