I started about a year and a half ago. I work on it every day and never gave up. I have become quite good at it and enjoy every minute of it. There will be days you get frustrated but keep going it will get better. I am an artist and have been since my youth. Similar to you I love to create, you will concur this challenge because you are a natural creator. I will suggest that you play with the pads you have BUT I blossoms when I started with quality paint but more than that good paper 100% cotton. Good luck and I look forward to watching you create. 🥰

I watercolour paint. I suggest investing in a dropper or spray bottle to activate your paints. You're wasting a lot doing it this way. Drop a bit of water on the paint you want to use, let it sit for a minute or so, then mix it only a palette. You shouldn't need go wipe off excess. Keep a water container for cleaning brushes and a clean on for using on the paper/paint!

To achieve the more opaque look of your picture goal Gouache paint may be a better choice. Similar to watercolor

Hi! Artist here❤️Watercolour is quite challenging but I think you'll do it perfectly💐 But! If you think about giving up on this medium within the next 100 days, think about other mediums. Acrylic is definitely more forgiving to use and if that isn't what you like, maybe start with Graphite pencils to get a feeling for the object and feeling you want to portray❤️Good luck! I am definitely looking forward to see what your creative mind comes up with and how you like the medium🤗💞
