Only bad experience looking for an la apt was with the rental girl. I think they attract selfish/inexperienced landlords which doesn’t help.

I drove 45 min to a showing and they double booked the poor assistant they assigned to cover the showings, so she was down the street and 30 min late. 😅

I tried using them for one property. Assistant showed up and basically didn’t have any info and told me to ask the main lady. Didn’t end up using them.

Yes had terrible experience with them. They were asking for way too much info for the application. When i questioned them, they talked down to me saying it’s just how LA is. And I’m like been renting here for 10+ years and never had this much difficulty. Will never use them and their listing are always priced too high for the apt.

something to consider as well is that applications are the primary way that rental realtors make money. it’s in their best interest to convince you (and as many people as possible) to put in an application. part of the fee goes to background checks, but the majority is pocketed.

I completely agree. Not organized whatsoever and they hire people who are just good at social media. You can find a lot of their listings through different sites as well & just directly go through there. It’s unfortunate bc you see how many people watch their videos & comment.

I had a similar situation with them. Very unprofessional. Felt like they pushed my husband and I to apply for apartments and getting our hopes up that we would get that place. In the end We felt like we wasted time/money on their crazy long application process on apartments that said they would really consider us and our dog and then they kept rejecting us because of owning a dog….like they couldn’t ask the property owners before we applied if dogs were accepted?!

Tbh I did nottt have a great very recent experience with them either. 😫 One of those where everything was lining up well, made me feel like I was a shoe-in for the unit/building, but they ultimately went with someone else. Mind you, I literally had to physically hunt down an old property manager #’s across town just bc the rental app website page wouldn’t let me continue without one. 😫 She was perfectly nice, but I don’t think I’ll use their service in the future…

Before moving to LA I spoke with them ahead of the move. I forget who I spoke too but they explained there was an upfront charge ahead of starting the search. I luckily spoke to another realtor who said they get paid from landlords and shouldn’t charge tenants.

idk if this helps anyone but when we were looking for a place we walked around the area we liked and took pics of the management signs they had, went online checked them out as well as other listings and set up apps to look at the units - it ended up working well for us!
