@breezysbeez: bees will start bearding for one of two reasons (usually) - they are either trying to cool & ventilate the hive OR they are overcrowded. in my case - I just added a second box about two weeks ago & so they aren't overcrowded. however, if you look at my hive you'll notice I still have my entrance reducer on & with how large this colony is now they definitely no longer need it. I will be removing it tomorrow during my hive inspection to hopefully make it easier for them to keep the hive cool and well ventilated. 🐝 #bee #bees #beekeeping #beekeeper #savethebees #beehive
