Good way to look at it, well done. I noticed that this may have worked out because there is answer at hand. 33x1 = 33 is also true, 3x11 = 11x3 is true as well. Could these have changed the whole thing?

Looks like a poor method. That may not always work. What if there was a prime number in place of 33 ? Replace 33 by 1 × 33 and let's see.
