I feel like your stories are all about me! 😂 This was exactly me. Hated myself for even letting him in…but the love bombing is a very real thing!! Once we had kids he had me. I ignored red flags because of the love I had for my kids. I stayed until I was completely drained. 25yrs.

All accurate 👍 I’m still in it and feel helpless. I can’t sink my own ship just to escape. I’m too far out at sea so I lower my sails and weather the storm. Damage is severe but I’m alive. No intimacy. Only control, anger and punishment. I have been the provider and stand to loose everything I have worked all my life for.

Amen! I divorced him! I’m finally over the guilt of ignoring the red flags and beating myself up for feeling weak. He felt blindside by me divorcing him and said -“it’s so out of the blue!”I laughed-I’d been miserable for years and he knew it. But he didn’t think I had the backbone to look out for myself and get away from his abuse.
