@wearedigitaldiplomacy: They say an image is worth 1000 words… The White House has released photos of US President Donald Trump in the Situation Room at the White House when he authorized coordinated strikes against Iran yesterday. In the Situation Room last night also Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State and Acting National Security Adviser Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The photos are reminiscent of other historically famous photos from the White House Situation Room: On May 1, 2011, then President Barack Obama, then-Vice President Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other officials watch from the Situation Room the operation that took out Osama bin Laden. Oct. 26, 2019, Trump, in his first term as 45th President of the United States, was joined by national security adviser Robert O’Brien, Vice President Mike Pence, Defense Secretary mark Esper, and other officials in the Situation Room, to monitor developments in the Special Operations forces raid that took out Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. October 2, 2001 — less than a month after 9/11 — then President George W Bush met with members of the National Security Council, including then Secretary of State Colin Powell, then Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, then National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, and then Vice President Dick Cheney. #diplomacy #digitaldiplomacy
