📍 Applecross Pass / Bealach na Bà: 11 miles of incredible scenery 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Starting at sea level, this incredible section of the NC500 has the steepest ascent of any road in the UK, rising to 626m. With challenging hairpin bends and jaw-dropping views towards the Isle Of Skye, this single-track road was the only access in and out of Applecross until 1975. With gradients hitting almost 20%, it is one stretch of the NC500 which is definitely not suitable for caravans or motorhomes. Depending on the time of year, you may want to consider the alternative road via Shieldaig, to avoid potential ice/snow. I drove it at the beginning of March and was just above the snow line. Go anti-clockwise on the NC500 for this view and it will be one you will never forget 🙌 #applecross #bealachnaba #nc500 #roadtrip #Scotland #hiddenscotland
