@mandilu.tattoo: Alt is an umbrella term for any music that stems from punk rock and ska. It was founded by people of color and the lower class. It is kept alive by the working/lower class It wasn’t something you could buy and call an asthetic it’s about individually in yourself and building a community outside of the norm. It’s seeing the bigger picture and not falling for the trends that lead to more mass waste. It’s about embracing your ugly and diying it instead. I’m afraid we’re loosing the plot. You can’t fight and vote for the right. The police function is for protection of property and social control if you value businesses and billionaires over people trying to work towards a better life do us all a favor and educate yourself. You can’t play dress up punk rock while staying willfully ignorant. Within the last few years we’ve taken away women’s autonomy. We’re cutting government programs people depend on to eat and live. Which I might add are hard to get approved of in the first place so the people on it need it. You shouldn’t have to prove that you’re worthy of getting your basic needs met. We’re no longer funding pbs, which neglected and low income kids relied on for education and development. I’ve heard why should the government pay for that in the first place? Maybe because that’s this country’s future voters, pro life up until it comes to making sure kids are taken care of and learning. They want us uneducated because then there’s less opportunities for marginalized groups or low class individuals, which either means we won’t know how to make a difference or be stuck to little options and resort to crime to make it. Which instead of actually reforming inmates we’ll keep them coming back by making it hard for them to find work and support themselves so they can keep the funding and tax cut for their own pockets and prisons. We can’t fund things to help us the people but we can fund mass raids on tax paying, hard working immigrants. We can’t fund housing for the homeless and are now going to be adding to the problem by making people struggle more. Mostly red voting states use ebt, and wic programs. Punk is for the people and for being loud about it, conservatism is for the wealthy who are on their way to wiping out the middle class.
