@young_turkish_cypriots: Nicos Sampson - also known as the Butcher of Omorphita - appears here in an interview shortly after his violent coup against President Makarios in July 1974. Sampson was a notorious EOKA terrorist responsible for the ☠️ of 92 Turkish Cypriots in December 1963, including women and children. He later led EOKA-B following the death of Georgios Grivas. Despite his denial in the interview, Sampson was in full collaboration with the Greek military regime. Over 650 Greek officers were embedded in the Cyprus National Guard, and it was Greece that supplied EOKA-B with the tanks and arms used to violently seize power.
