My understanding was there wasn't a entrance till one was forced. 🧐 Could be its under ground .Over time the winds blew sands and dirt covering it.

No this was not the original entrance it was completely sealed they started deconstructing it to find this passage & then built the doorway entrance around it. They weren’t intended to be opened which is why the passages internally are steep and narrow. There are passages sealed by gigantic stone slabs yet to be excavated but I think those would be best left undisputed, obviously sealed for a reason.
