It’s because everything’s been gentrified , I grew up working class on fish and chips/ sausage it was a poor man’s treat on a weekend.

Not sure if it’s still there but it was ALWAYS Melfort Rd chip shop Thornton Heath when I was growing up I now use Seine Rigger in Nork way Banstead or Hardy’s fish and chip shop as they are closer to home and absolutely excellent!
