My daughter has her 2nd symes amputation in 3 weeks time. Her first was in 2018. She has hers done at Great Ormond Street Hospital. We were told that they would start from the ankle and if needs be she can have more amputated later down the line if needed, as they can take the leg away but cant re-add it 🫶🏼 Loved watching your story so far, its amazing to see you so poisitive and upbeat 🩷

i've only ever seen prosthetics fitted right below the knee, you have a lot of leg left imho! wishing you the best ♥️

My dad’s an amputee a “bologna” amputee if you will and after his he had serious depression he was a workaholic and with the work he did he couldn’t go back to work. How are you dealing with the mental part of it? It’s probably bc you were in so much pain, my dad didn’t have much time to think ab it but by the time it was a day or so before the amputation he was begging them to cut it off

My friend dad had one due diabetes started with his toe then above ankle then blow knee then above knee infection kept getting him

When I had mine done the podiatrist suggested symes but the surgeon said there was a high chance of failure with the fat pad and end of the bones as well as finding a foot that fit the height restriction. I’m in the US.

a friend had his amputation at the ankle where they kept both his lower leg bones and they put his heel skin at the bottom. he could easily walk on it without a prosthetic. why didn't they do that for you?

Hi there, I’m a new amputee as well (30th May was my op). I was just curious as to what makes you wear your shrinker sock this way in the video with the seam going across the wound/scar as opposed the same way as the wound/scar. Also, have you been casted for a prosthetic leg yet?

yes, you will have a much better fit. I have a chopart amputation and it's a pain getting a proper prosthetic. well wishes love, you got this 🤗
