@i.am.never.full: Please name something better than Steak and Rice Ingredients 6–8 oz steak (ribeye, strip, or your favorite cut) Salt and pepper to taste Sauce ¼ cup dashi broth 1 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp mirin 1 tbsp sake 1 clove garlic, minced 1 tsp honey Cooked rice for serving Optional Garnish: scallions, egg yolk Instructions 1. Season steak generously on both sides with salt and pepper. 2. In a small pot, combine dashi, soy sauce, mirin, sake, garlic, and honey. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3 minutes, then set aside to cool slightly. 3. Heat a pan over high heat and add oil. Sear the steak, flipping every 30 seconds for 6½ minutes. Remove and let rest for 10 minutes. 4. Slice steak to your desired thickness. 5. Place over a bowl of rice and pour sauce over the top.
