I love when the romance is a subplot, they barely touch hands but the tension is soooo goood. But give me that complex magic system, intricate world building and heavy political tension baby because I’m all for it 😌

i think about it like 3 options: romance with fantasy elements (where the romance is the story but it’s magical), fantasy with romance elements (mostly fantasy with a romance subplot), and romantasy (each is given 50% of the importance of the story)

I’m tired of people calling every fantasy book romantasy bcs it has some love. LOVE is so natural and human that reading a book with no love at all, not even the mention of it feels unnatural. You don’t call a thriller a romanthriller because it has a romance subplot, so why every fantasy book that includes couples/ lovers is immediately a romantasy??🗣️🗣️
