Bashkort dance and legend- Ете ҡыҙ (Ete kyz-Seven girls) It is not known for certain when the legend of the seven girls, which was embodied in dance began. it can be assumed that this happened at the beginning of the 18th century, when the Kazakh and Bashkir clans raided each other. Seven sisters, lived in a village not far from a reservoir. Everyone loved them for their beauty, hard work and, of course, dancing. One day, Bashkir horsemen gathered to show their prowess and stole a herd of horses from the nearest Kazakh camp. The Kazakhs valued their horses very much, became very angry and did not leave this act unpunished - they killed the Bashkir men, captured the most beautiful women, including seven sisters, and took them with them. To prevent the captured girls from escaping, the Kazakh warriors cut their feet and poured fine horsehair into the wounds. The cuts healed, but it was impossible for the girls to walk, much less run away, because of the severe pain. Seven girls lived in captivity for a whole year and in one day managed to deceive the Kazakhs. They waited until they fell asleep and ran away. The warriors, having discovered the disappearance of the captives, set off in pursuit. The girls ran to the lake, and there Bashkir horsemen were already galloping to their rescue. But the pursuers overtook the sisters, and the desperate girls, holding hands, jumped into the lake. Today it is called Kultuban (“kul” - lake, “taban” - sole, deep). There is another interesting detail in the legend. Allegedly one of the sisters survived. The girl was taken to her parents, her wounded legs were healed. After this, the Bashkir beauty came to the lake and remembered the dance that she danced with her dead sisters. The surviving sister passed on their memory from generation to generation through dance. #culture #bashkortostan #fyp #legend #dance #national #turkic
