Yeah this is why I don’t think pvp is always bad. My character wouldn’t sacrifice their morals to let somebody else’s murder an innocent person. Use the “it’s what my character would do” mentality against them.

As a DM I straight up tell the player that wants to be a lil murder goblin ✨no✨ like it doesn’t even fit their backstory, they just want to be chaotic. If my whole party isn’t enjoying the session, I’m doing something wrong.

playing with these type of people takes all the fun out of D&D. I run a more serious-toned campaign and during session 0 i straight up said “if you’re not going to take it seriously, this isn’t the table for you”

We had a murder hobo in our campiagn, and the dungeon master had enough. He had the next town be a collective cult hive mind that once he killed one of the residents, they waited for us to sleep and snuck in his room in the tavern, and ripped him to pieces.

My dm boyfriend only allows pvp so that my overpowered (completely natural I swear I only have rolled good for stats 😭) fighter-barbarian-paladin multiclass can handle any party member problems 😂 one action surged rage level 3 smite usually does the trick

Me and my best friend joined a mutual friends campaign with and first session of combat as we were introduced to the party mid combat the Wizard knowingly let my friends pc get caught in the blast range of his fireball because “he wouldn’t care about her because he doesn’t know her”, well I did and our pcs had been adventuring together for years prior to the party, so my pc was next to him having just more or less given the 5 second introduction, so on my next round I dropped everything I had and full killed his character (direct damage to his con score) paladin res’d him after the fight but the player had a fit that he basically had to sit around for an hour and a half while we finished the combat, sucks to be a murder hobo ig.

I play pen and paper and the only fight we somewhat instigated was that time we jumped a guy who was following us, but he was literally trying to kill someone from our group as it turned out. The majority of our characters are pretty nice people and those who aren’t, are already wanted by different authorities and don’t want to draw attention. We either get attacked or pick a fight with the bad guys.

theres a huge difference between " my character doesn't value the lives of people she doesn't care about over her own ends" and " I like to just 💀 every person that minorly inconveniences me" and I hate getting mistaken for the second cause 😭

Was running a session where a guy tried to steal from an old woman they had just saved while she was actively giving them healing potions and I had to stop him as the dm bc she was the only source of healing potions in the entire campaign

as a DM, i am probably going to have a crash out like this because I can't have someone constantly derailing the story. like, a little bit of derailing is fine, but when it's CONSTANT, then I'm gonna lose it :)

I was in a campaign with my now exboyfriend and his oath breaker paladin decided to kill a priest for whaogod forsaken reason and my character stood up and tried to stop him but got knocked out by his character who then lied and said the priest did it

The first table i played at was like this and unfortunately included the fact that the dm was more than happy to let his friends do whatever they wanted and let them talk over me constantly because i was “just the healer” (i love playing healer dw) I left and now have a group that actually likes and wants to role play and doesn’t disrespect the healer

pvp can be really fun if both players are down for it too! one of the most powerful moments of my last campaign was an argument between two pcs that escalated to pvp. these characters were VERY close and knew each other prior to the campaign. my friend and i were also close, so we were both checking with each other during the rp and making sure that was the direction we both wanted to take. pvp can have it's place!!
