A lot of times money plays a major factor also. Unfortunately black funeral homes often charge substantially less and give a lot more service in many cases😔

If you’re not respected in life, nothing changes in DEATH. The REMAINS of the people of COLOR were disrespected as well with the FAMILY. THE BLACK FUNERAL HOME HAVE EXCELLED IN SERVING ITS COMMUNITY.

Not self-segregating as you suggest, but out of necessity. Wyt funeral homes would literally not serve Black families or would not treat them with respect. Post official segregation, Black funeral homes were located in Black communities whereas wyt homes were on wyt sides of town and catered to wyt people.

The black funeral homes around where I'm from place a red light at the families home. Do you know what it means? White funeral homes don't do it around here. I've asked this before and nobody answered it on Facebook

Gee I thought this was only in the south. So, is this everywhere? I mean here (in south) we have black and white churches. But kinda mixed funeral homes. Never been to an ALL black funeral home. But then I’m white. But is this everywhere or just the south?

When I was growing up in NYC, most AA's used funeral homes in Harlem to do final arrangements for their loved ones.

he right about it when it comes to our hair.but I needed a hair cut one time when I was out of town in Arkansas and I stopped by a older white barber for a cut.i was unsure if he was able to cut my hair and line my tape up.but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and he gave me a descent hair cut.but sad how color have us thinking about each other
