I used to shrimp in a small boat pulling a 30foot net. Thousands of fish died each pull for small amounts of shrimp. Shrimpers will have to change their work area and maybe some of their equipment but they can still shrimp. No one is taking their jobs. It’s the same as any other business you have to be able to adapt and change based on current situations.

That’s not true. The inland nets have massive/heavy weights and hooks/anchors all over that just absolutely tear up the beds.

buddy I've been talking to my friend ol Bubba Wheatly about this for the past week. I support each and every one of yall fighting the fight. I even joined the nc fisheries association today to get money to the cause. worst part is one of my friends and a fraternity brother Dave craven is one of the idiots who added this to the bill. I hope they hear our voices tomorrow!!

If they pass that bill good luck trying to run a skiff for shrimp ever again, SC passed that bill and it went from 1200 registered shrimping vessels down to 300 this year, kills the industry from the bottom up

They did the same thing in Texas. Pretty much shut down shrimping inshore other than for live bait. Everybody just moved offshore to shrimp.

The major shrimpers are already off shore! Get the nets out of the sounds and waterways! I am tired of not being able to keep a damn fish yet they kill and keep everything.
