If you don’t have blue/ turquoise in your sjy, don’t put it in the sea/ water. The sky reflects on the sea, so if you did’t put blue( or if you had put just a little) it would have looked more realistic

I was just about to comment, spend your money on good quality paper more so than expensive paint and brushes to start! Learn to handle the water to colour ratio to get your desired effects. Then invest in good brushes and experiment with techniques. Lastly, just try a bunch of types/brands of colours, experiment around with them, to find the types and brands of watercolour you prefer. But keep at it, in the end you will not only find the kind of paper, brushes and watercolours you prefer, but also find a style that is uniquely yours. 😊

I’ve tried taping my paper and it pulls the top layer off. How do you tape without that happening. Am I using the wrong paper?

Get better paper. I suggest archers, when I was teaching myself I was frustrated with results until I changed paper made a world of difference
