I do not take issue with his comparative explanation between sin in Christianity and karma in Buddhism; however, I find several of his claims problematic. First, he denies the existence of the concept of sin in Buddhism. I would argue otherwise. The Buddha frequently used the Pāli term pāpa, which is closely comparable to the English word sin. Numerous occurrences of pāpa can be found throughout the Tipiṭaka, indicating that Buddhism does in fact acknowledge a concept functionally similar to sin. Second, he claims that karma can be understood as a form of “natural cause and effect.” I contend that this characterization oversimplifies the doctrine. Karma is not merely a natural law of causality; rather, it refers specifically to an individual’s actions (kamma) and the consequent results (phala). These results arise naturally from the actions performed, but they are not reducible to a general principle of cause and effect independent of human agency. Third, he asserts that “karma is not just an action but the intention behind an action.” While intention (cetanā) is indeed a central component of karmic theory, I argue that this claim is incomplete. Karma cannot be reduced to intention alone, since even unintentional actions may generate consequences. Thus, karma must be understood not merely as intention, but as action—whether intentional or unintentional—that inevitably produces results.

I hope teachers of other religions also be as calm and as fair and as decent when they teach in the congregations instead of making more of their speaches full of loud warnings, unclear/riddle statements, and collecting "tithings". No disrespect though, just a thought.

oh i understand now. different karma VS sin. in point view some religion if we do sin, we can ask forgiveness to God. but in Buddha who believe karma. I plant seed and Harvest my own action, can't ask forgiveness from God. Right?😳
