its so hard administering tests like this to patients. I just say ok. good job. and I feel so bad. the look of worry on some of their faces. 🥺 im so sorry. you're at least trying to get help. some don't.

My dad has Alzheimer’s and when people ask him questions like this his response is “I’m retired I don’t need to know” pretty clever. He’s forgetting our names now though so it’s definitely progressing.

My mom would pass those 30 question tests in her Dr’s office with flying colors but I knew something was wrong I kept telling her Dr. He wouldn’t refer her for anymore tests. Turns out she finally got diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia after seeing her endocrinologist for an unrelated issue. Finally!!! Her odd behaviors made sense. Keep pushing if you don’t get answers!!

I mean no disrespect by this or insinuating opinion is what you should do if it was possible.. but I will always believe that we should be allowed to sign something when of sound mind to be given the assisted end of life medicine when dementia surpasses a certain threshold. much like a DNR in a way. I'm so sorry you're in this situation. 😭💙

It's so scary when they do that test on your loved one & you hear the answers & they are not even close to what's being asked by the Neurologist. 😳 It's just very hard, cause you know there is no cure & it will get more severe.

When my mother-in-law was asked what city she’s in she asked the nurse; what city are you in? The nurse told her and she said well. I’m in the same one.😊

From a certified dementia practitioner and executive director of senior living….live in her reality. Always. It’s sad but I love these moments with them! Music is the last to go so always have music on during the day. 🫶
