POV: You moved from the U.S. 🇺🇸 to Nigeria 🇳🇬 and bought a house, but only had enough to buy the house cash because mortgages aren’t a thing here.💰. I recently moved to Lagos, Nigeria 🇳🇬 & bought a house cash, Check the post before this for how much I paid. This is a CASH society! Cash upfront for everything! 💸 No credit cards 💳 Yes, there are some mortgages, but they aren’t really a thing/common & with how competitive the housing market is in Lagos now, you either come with your cash upfront or scoot over for the next buyer with their cash! 😩 & let me tell you something, there are people here with lots of money! Like a lot a lot. Lol. After this purchase, there’s nothing left for furniture lol! Between paying tuition for A in boarding school & this house & furniture - it’s tight tight lol & something’s gotta give. I was supposed to be taking time off work this year to rest and reset and heal, so I’m holding my workaholic self accountable to that. So, forget furnishing this house or anything else 😂. I ain’t got no money & I ain’t got nothing left in me to work hard to make any money. I’m tired y’all. 😭 I barely made it to have the full amount to pay for the house so this is what it’s gonna be for now 😂😂. The exchange range (Dollar to Naira) fluctuates daily 😖. When changing USD to Naira, you may even lose money (I did when buying this house). So money was real tight! I won’t lie. Anyways, at least it was paid in cash so I don’t owe anyone anything, & that peace of mind is priceless. It really helps me sleep at night. Operation drink garri & eat indomie noodles starts now! 😂 Ps, This is the 2nd house I’ve purchased cash, (first one is in Texas). However the first one is a rental property and I never planned to live in it, so furnishing it was never a thing, I did have to remodel it though. Plus A wasn’t in private school, so tuition wasn’t a thing either. Either way, here we are. Overall, I’m always grateful and thankful to God for provision and more.
