@_sorisha_naidoo: This Mandela Day, the Sibaya Community Trust will contribute R250,000 towards the rebuilding of Thembele Shangase’s home — a project spearheaded by East Coast Radio. Thembele lives in Madwaleni, Inchanga (Ward 4, eThekwini Metro), where her home was severely damaged by the devastating 2022 floods. While others have managed to slowly rebuild, Thembele and her family of 13 continue to live in a dangerously unstable structure — weather-worn, water-damaged, and constantly at risk of collapse. No family should live under such fear — especially not a mother doing her best to protect her loved ones. We hope this contribution not only helps restore a safe and dignified home but also honours the legacy of Nelson Mandela, who taught us to serve with compassion and purpose.
