a kid in a class I usually don't teach pulled me aside to tell me his mom is very sick and had to stay at the hospital recently. he started crying and I went to the schools social worker with him to talk about all this. the social worker called his mom to talk everything through and when she arrived she was really nervous what all this was about. when I told her she started laughing because she'd just given birth and had to stay in for a few days afterwards 😭 poor kid though she's gonna die

I had a grade 5 student who was born different (mentally). She was doing a project on healthy eating, everytime she talked about overweight and diabetes she used me and some other teachers as examples 😂
