I’m convinced that this generation of the church is what all our parents and grandparents talked about. They always talked about how revival was coming. Revival is coming. They just don’t like that we took them literally when they said, “listen to the words of Jesus. Pattern yourself after Jesus.” They don’t like the way this revival looks, but it’s coming whether they want it or not.

No he wouldn’t, most of his songs were very reverent of God. This rewrite is not, it’s just calling out on side of Christianity while ignoring the other side’s mistakes

Rich would not have approved of this song and it would have broken his heart. He didn’t want to see a faith divided and knowing that it was would have left him in tears. He would have stood where he always stood, off to the side actually doing what the Bible says and not pointing fingers at the left or right. Rich loved the Church and all its mess. Rich loved the least and strived to do the work of the kingdom. Don’t make Rich a talking point for bad theology or the poster boy for deconstruction because he wouldn’t stand for that just as he wouldn’t stand for his songs to be used as a weapon.

Jesus didn't affirm sin. yes he loves people but he wasn't shy about calling people out. the woman at the well was called out for living with a man that wasn't her husband. the woman caught in adultery was told to go and sin no more.
