Friction zone, learn it. Practice by putting a piece of 2x4 directly in front of your back tire and ride over it without moving the board. Once you master that you master the friction zone. This will help you greatly in situations like this.

Balance on one foot and use the rear brake….. newer Harley’s have a feature for that. Pinch the front lever twice and it holds for ya. 👍

I use front brakes to sit and release when I feel the friction (clutch) start pulling. staying in and right at the friction zone eleminates the need of brakes and roll back, or this is what my 47 years of riding has taught me ✌️

Put your foot up on the rear break, so you don’t go backward at all, then just regular throttle/clutch control. practice finding that friction zone for scenarios like this.

Rear brake ain’t being used and gotta utilize the clutch and throttle. Anytime your on a hill you wanna be on that back brake it’ll also stop you from rolling backwards when taking off.
