I did this once, my brush got caught and went into the sprocket, broke my brush but learnt my lesson, always do it with the bike off from now on

It’s honestly cleans so much better scrubbing it section by section and then wiping with a rag. You’re just smearing it all around like that.

brush just smears the gunk on the chain. Doesn’t really clean it off. wipe it off with a wet rag thoroughly after spraying it a few times with cleaner. Do this in order multiple times instead.
