My literal great grandmother. She was a mechanic during WWII then got layed off and sent back to the kitchens with the other women. Her husband threatened to divorce her if she perused another job like that, so she git a job at the local air port and got remarried to her manager at that air port. 💕

Fun fact! The US government actually teamed with Hollywood to create movies to convince women to return back to the home post WWII. Movies like Mildred Pierce were made explicitly to warn women against pursuing their professional aspirations instead of staying at home.
