A hairstylist here and you are 1000% right. It’s always gonna be orange and damaged when lightened and clash with the skin tone. Unnecessary damage, loss of shine and high maintenance to constantly fight yellow tones. I wish dark hair girlies would ask for brown or mocha highlights not silver, not blonde….

Try explaining that to my mother! I have beautiful, naturally dark hair that I adore and she insists that I dye it a shade of blonde 😒 or at least do highlights. I would think she’d be happy that her daughter loves the hair she inherited from her mother and all the women that came before her. 😫
