I think you need to invest in better paint ... yes it's an investment but you'll overall need less coats therefore be buying less

My husband is a painter/decorator - he recommends Johnstones Trade paint. Durable Matt for kitchen/bathroom and high traffic areas, and covaplus for the rest and ceilings x you’re doing great! X

it's because the plaster is darker x don't go over the same ares multiple times while it's wet x let it dry as you do other parts of the wall then go over again and after a few layers it should be white x hope this helps x (not trying to be mean!! just trying to help)

I know this is very frustrating for you buy honestly watching all the walls turn white after being here from the very beginning of the house remodel is very satisfying 😅

First coat of paint on fresh plaster should be 50% water 50% normal paint and then make sure you leave it for a minimum of 24 hours. The next coat still have it ever is slightly watered down and make sure you leave 24 hours between coats.

I think you need to invest in a better quality paint so you don't need to do as many layers. The more expensive paints will have better coverage x
