Cap to 10k in cash seems fine, limit to UK stocks is horrible, getting rid of stamp duty would be amazing.

I have posted why do you pay stamp duty on UK stocks and not USA stocks . The ftse is the worst index to invest both the DAX and CAC40 out performed it

invest in a secondary stock market where you are buying shares off an investment bank and not the initial issuers, all those lovely dealing fees and custody charges being paid to a financial institution and all that stamp duty payable to the gubbermint, can see why the finance markets don't want your money in a cash ISA and want it in a stock ISA
