Apartment hunting as a foreigner is tough. I remember it took me months to even find a place that was willing to rent to me as an American. Thankful for my real estate agent, she’s the goat for making probably 1,000 phone calls 😭🙏

love how ppl act like Japanese racism is such a big issue but it isn't. Japanese racism is getting stared at on the train and not being let into a bar. American racism is getting shot for being black. Japan's racism is so tame for a first world country that it's basically a non issue 😂😂😂

i only visited for school but i had a thai man ask to take a picture w me and my classmates. i didn’t know until after when a friend told me that he’s most likely going to post it on a weird website (he took one w the boys and then one w the girls…)

That’s the one thing about America that’s greater than any country I’ve been to the bureaucracy is pretty straightforward and faster than most countries. For example you can get your passport in one week in the US if you pay enough but in other countries it takes months or even years with multiple layers of needless paperwork and red tape.

used to want to visit japan but hearing how they treat foreigners changed my mind on it. its funny how cultures like japan, canada, or england all think of themselves as being extremely polite, whilst being known for their extremely hostile treatment of the 'outgroup'

Also banks here are god awful. My bank has only recently started allowing banking on its app and even then the vast majority still use bank books so they have to go all the way to the bank, print their spendings in it and then go home, instead of just doing it all at home on their phone. Also, it took me 45 mins just to change my phone number which I had to do in person at my main bank and my friend waited two hours just to get a statement. Bureaucracy here sucks and needs to be restructured.
