@jinandtonictravels: Why is the world's most Catholic country, Brazil, also the place with the world's largest Pride parade? If you think of pride as protest and not just a celebration it starts to make sense. It's easy to write it off as just an excuse to party when you see the spectacle, but read the statistics, like how homo and transphobia are very much alive in Brazil and you realise it's still a protest, and a necessary one at that.
