I have a question so when the transfer switch switches to emergency mode and opens the utility and closes the generator, what is going on with the neutral, do you isolate the path back to the utility transformer from the generator neutral?

Please explain, for the beginning electricians, where the ground rod and water main terminate now on ATS. Plus you mentioned 200amp. So tells us the minimum size wire for this connections. Nice job my bother.

Teach about the control wiring. Thats the important part besides keeping up with code, understanding what makes that switch happen.

Lol this is generac old 200 amp service entrance rated switch with two new features 1 two neutral busses and a new neutral connection to the transfer relay switch which is not lockable and can't be installed in canada and the Bahamas.

You cant switch neutral off, it needs to be on/connected all the time that electricity can flow back.

that's wrong Neutral needs to be landed on the Neutral bar and you have no ground landed on the ground bar

These should be installed ether right beside the meter or right beside the main panel. Not inbetween both

Since that’s your first means of disconnect, isn’t your ground from your water source come to that

And it becomes the residential/facility point of common coupling. There should be 3 neutrals connected in it like seen here. One neutral from utility, one from emergency power and one to the home's panel. The last thing you want is objectionable current.

you have unfused feeders coming into the transfer switch that can be readily touched or damaged. that flex conduit should be in a wall protected

It’s my understanding that if you switch the neutral/ground conductor, it’s now considered a separately derived system and requires a separate grounding electrode & grounding electrode conductor.
