Correct me if I’m wrong, but in how to train your dragons, they explained that a lot of their equipment is made from dragons sourced materials. I would also say that the Vikings have centuries of experience fighting dragons whereas Game of Thrones dragons had been gone for over a century, and no one had the know how to fight them.
